Dan Adams passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, survived by his wife and fellow artist/poet Anna Zappoli Jenkins

Dan was a well known artist in the San Diego art community and loved by many! He was a prolific and very disciplined self taught painter and poet, known best for his paintings of dogs and dog encounters. Adam’s dog Nica was an important inspiration and prominently appeared in much of his work. His subject matter was autobiographical, usually whimsical still-life objects and portraits, or interactive figures in space. The artist’s use of color, light, and shadow, carry a layered poetic meaning to his small scale and deceptively simple compositions. There is an inimitable informality to his painting, that invites the viewer to share in the narrative. Adam’s wanted his work to be accessible in more ways than one. He was a truly successful artist who painted what and whom he loved, and on his own terms! He will be missed!   Dan's Website
