The Artist & The Competitive Spirit: short rant on D Hickey's view of the good artist

Art, viewed in terms of sports and competition is easily understood. Very easily understood! Yet, the commentators like to go on and on and on some more about what it is they think they are seeing. Giving validation to the over paid players, teams, team owners, and whomever takes pride in the game. Artists, that are like athletes, are reliant on all of the above. As well as the limitations of the game and it's motivations. 'Most the good artists' Dave Hickey, are not like athletes. They are their antithesis.
